Testimonials

Many of the staff members at Gowrie NSW make a valued contribution to the success and vision of the organisation and are committed to the highest standards of professionalism and best practice values. Two of our energetic staff members describe what working at Gowrie NSW means to them.

Stella Timpano, Director, Nanbaree Child Centre

My journey at Gowrie NSW commenced in May 2004. I have had the pleasure to be involved in the JET program (Jobs, Education and Training), then a supervisor at Burwood Crèche - a unique program where childcare is offered to newly arrived migrants, and currently as Director at Nanbaree Child Care Centre, run for the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

I believe Gowrie is an organisation that moves through stages, never becoming stagnant, always challenging their employees to continue their growth for the continuous deliverance of high quality childcare. Commencing in the private sector over eleven years ago and now working within a community organisation which provides greater ratios and opportunities for staff to feel appreciated is why I am with this organisation. The ability to have strong leadership from senior management is always helpful.

The approach to professional development and implementation for the continuous changes in the early childhood field is always offered, with employees given opportunities for continuous growth and development through training, study leave and networking. Gowrie publications are always informative and insightful, giving information on current issues affecting early childhood education such as the National Quality Framework.

Elena Lebedeva, Payroll Officer, Gowrie NSW Head Officeelena

I joined the Gowrie team as a payroll officer in August 2010 and feel privileged to be a part of such a dynamic and compassionate organisation. Gowrie is represented by exceptionally professional staff who are experienced and determined to uphold and promote the Gowrie philosophy and values: the right of the child, social justice and human values. There is a strong belief in the power of education - as a solid start in life for children, building a brighter future - makes working for Gowrie a valuable experience.  Sharing this vision and passion for children and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds is something that is very exciting and rewarding.

Having worked at Gowrie for the past 6 months, every day provides new learning opportunities and amazing discoveries about people, their diversity, creativity and talents and is nurtured by an organisation that is both flexible and supportive. There is always a friendly face that greets you at Gowrie and is willing to lend a hand; just testament to who we are at Gowrie.
