Child Care Centres Overview

At the heart of Gowrie’s philosophy, and the values which underpin all our work, is quality of service.

Our childcare centres are staffed by dedicated, qualified professionals who constantly endeavour to deliver the highest possible levels of care in early childhood and middle childhood education through the provision of innovative services to children and their families. All Gowrie NSW childcare centre staff members are offered extensive training opportunities which foster ongoing professional development and excellence, as well as ensuring that advances in research-based evidence and new understandings gained in early childhood pedagogy continue to inform and improve their performance as educators and childcare practitioners.

The rights of the child, social justice and humanist values are also an important part of our philosophy. Gowrie recognises the fundamental importance of diversity and inclusiveness in our society, and is a strong advocate for the provision of accessible and equitable childcare available to everyone. In practice, Gowrie is an active participant in the Government’s National Quality Agenda, which upholds that childcare services should be inclusive of all children, recognising physical, cultural and linguistic diversity, particularly embracing the indigenous population.

One of the key factors which sets Gowrie apart from many other providers is our focus on higher than required ratios of staff to children and trained early childhood practitioners. In all our services, we provide better than NSW regulation ratios. This higher ratio enables staff to ensure the needs of each child and family are met and that strong relationships are built.
