Gowrie offers outside schools hours and vacation care at Erskineville Public School, helping to fulfil a vital role in meeting the childcare needs of a vibrant and diverse local community.

The facilities currently provide up to 100 OSHC places and 45 vacation care places for children each day, providing high quality care for 5 to 12 year-olds in a safe yet stimulating recreational setting.

An important part of the program is the Active After School Care Sports initiative which promotes health and wellbeing through physical activity. The children have taken up the program with great enthusiasm and have excelled in many of the diverse activities on offer such as basketball, dance, yoga, AFL, tennis and soccer classes. Families also continue to give staff positive feedback about the program and the beneficial effects they see emerging in their children.

Community events are always popular and encourage children to get involved in the program by contributing in practical and creative ways. Including children in the program planning and implementation helps build good interpersonal, communication and life skills which, in turn, enables children to thrive in their family and community environments.

Visits to the centre are always welcome and can be arranged by calling the Supervisor on (02) 95575061 or email oshc@gowrie-sydney.com.au

Please note that a small fee will be charged to families who wish to place their child’s name on the waiting list at Gowrie OSHC. Family fees are based upon CCB levels. For more information about Child Care Benefit entitlements, visit mychild.gov.au
