Indigenous Professional Support Unit (IPSU)

Gowrie’s standing as an outward-looking and collaborative organisation, and its energetic pursuit of innovation in early childhood practice can best be encapsulated in the work it undertakes with the Indigenous Professional Support Unit (IPSU) NSW and ACT, funded by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.

IPSU NSW & ACT has been established to support staff to ensure that all Indigenous children attending eligible Indigenous childcare services have access to high quality care. IPSU provides professional development though mentoring, advice, support, referral and training.

IPSU staff support eligible Indigenous services to implement the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and encourage quality improvement. They prepare and support educators for their changing role under the National Quality Framework and enhance their knowledge and skills on new areas of practice. Click here to visit the IPSU website
