National Quality Framework Support
From January 2012, the Quality Improvement & Accreditation System (QIAS) will be replaced by a new national system included in the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education & Care, agreed upon by the Council of Australian Governments (COAG).
Based on research which shows that the first five years of a child’s experiences sets the course for future health, wellbeing and development, the Australian Government has implemented important changes to early childhood education and care to ensure that Australian children get the best possible start in life. Critical areas of reform will take place in education standards, health and safety, the physical environment, staffing ratios, the quality of relationships with children, collaborative partnerships with families and communities and quality leadership and service management. In addition, the new National Quality Standard rating system will give families transparency and confidence in understanding what constitutes an excellent level of service in the organisations it chooses.
Gowrie’s highly qualified Training and Professional Development team have prepared extensively for this important transition and are ready to provide comprehensive, customised assistance to any practitioner or childcare centre requiring expert advice, training and support. Please forward all quality assurance enquiries to the Gowrie NSW Head Office on (02) 8571 9742.
